Welcome back to the start of Term 2! What an exciting and festive term it will be! We hope this page will give you much of the useful information required, however, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.  The Year 2 team :)

Term 2 – ‘From Field to Fork!’ 

This term we are learning all about plants in our Science lesson and designing and making our own Christmas cards and decorations in our Art lessons, using natural resources.  In DT, we will cooking up a delicious and healthy soup. Our PE lessons will be focusing on ball games and in PSHE we will look at different jobs and how to care for the environment. During our Computing slot the children will get to learn about algorithms and how to debug a system. In Music, we will be listening to music centered around Carnival pieces and finding out about different musical instruments.

In our English lessons we will be looking at a range of different texts, including 'Pattan's Pumpkin', 'Soul Food Sunday  and 'The farm that feeds us'. From these, we will be writing a newspaper article, writing instructions and writing a narrative.

In our Maths lessons, the focus is all on shape, where we will learn how to sort 2D and 3D shapes, make shape patterns and find out about the properties of different shapes.
