Fleetdown Leadership Team

Sarah Jack

Executive Headteacher

I feel very privileged to be the Executive Headteacher of both Fleetdown Primary Academy and Wrotham Road Primary School.

I have worked in a variety of schools in Kent for over 21 years; teaching across the primary phase from Reception through to Year 6. I have always been committed to finding ways that schools can work collaboratively and seeking the positive outcomes that can be brought about by working successfully in partnership.

My fundamental belief is that every child who leaves school should be a happy, confident and self-assured young person, eager to learn and ready for the next steps in their life.

I am excited by this opportunity to work more closely with Mrs Harrington and her team of ambitious and talented staff. I recognise they are dedicated to ensuring Fleetdown pupils thrive during their time at the school through igniting a passion for learning within them all. I am confident that this new relationship will enable us to continue to offer the best educational experiences for all our learners.

Alice Harrington

Head of School

I am absolutely delighted that Fleetdown are part of The Golden Thread Alliance and are part of such a caring and supportive family. I have worked at Fleetdown for eight years and started here as a class teacher. I love working in the classroom with the children and watching all our children achieve amazing successes every day at school. I am incredibly proud to work at Fleetdown and it is a privilege to watch all our children grow and develop into inquisitive, enthusiastic and passionate learners. As most of the children and staff here at Fleetdown will tell you, I love visiting my family in Wales in the holidays, eating far too much chocolate and trips to the park with my two children.

Toniann Braniff

Deputy Headteacher

I joined Fleetdown in April 2019 as an Assistant Headteacher, having worked as a class teacher and Assistant Headteacher, for several years, in different schools in Maidstone. In September 2020 I became the leader of Inclusion at Fleetdown - something I am very passionate about, having been a child in receipt of Free School Meals myself and, in 2021 I became the Deputy Headteacher. I am incredibly privileged to be the Deputy Head at Fleetdown, to work with our amazing children and families as well as the passionate staff here. I always enjoy coming to school; every day is different and I learn something each day.

Sophie Dalton

Assistant Headteacher

Enthusiastic, upbeat and creative are three words that best describe me. Over the course of my teaching career, which began in 2015, I have taught across Key Stage 2 and experienced a number of different roles in senior leadership, subject coordination and mentoring. Since coming to Fleetdown in 2019, I have thoroughly enjoyed familiarising myself with the school and getting to know all the members of the school community. In class, my greatest passions lie within the STEM subjects: my favourite lessons are those filled with curiosity, exploration and discovery.
Outside of school, I enjoy baking, painting and listening to music; hobbies which I love to share with my class when I can!

Nicola King

Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion Manager)

I have been teaching since 2003 and I have taught in

every year group from Nursery to Year 6.
I am so excited about joining Fleetdown Primary Academy as SENDCo and looking forward to working across the whole school to support children who have SEND.  I am committed and passionate about improving the outcome for all children regardless of their starting points and additional needs and cannot wait to drive this forward here at Fleetdown.  I pride myself on building positive relationships with parents and carers and therefore I always operate an open-door policy - please come and say hello!

Outside of school I have 2 children who keep me very busy, notably as their taxi driver to their numerous social events!  However, we love spending time as a family; walking, exploring and trying out our new hobby of paddle boarding!

Vikki Coombes

Assistant Headteacher

Before joining Fleetdown, I worked at Oakfield Primary Academy (another school in The Golden Thread Alliance).  I started there in 2013 as a School Direct Teacher and worked my way up the professional ladder to become Assistant Head and Trust Maths Lead. During my time at Oakfield, I taught in years 2 - 6 and loved the variety of challenges I faced, and the experiences and memories I made.

2022 is the start of a new teaching and leadership journey for me, and you will now find me in year 2 at Fleetdown. I can't wait to be creating more memories with the children, seeing the wow moments and creating fun, educational opportunities.  I am passionate in continuing to create a safe and stimulating learning environment where the children can enjoy and show their passion and love of learning.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, which normally involves us on long walks in the woods with my dogs Obi and Indy.

Tom Leach

Assistant Headteacher

Passionate, hardworking and creative are definitely how I would describe myself.  I love education and working with children every day - seeing them learn and grow - is the reason I always push, rather than pull, myself out of bed each morning in order to get to work.  Having worked for the Trust for 10 years, I have worked with many incredible colleagues, pupils and parents and plan to continue doing so for many more years to come.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young children, running around the North Downs and following my beloved Charlton Athletic.
