I am absolutely delighted that Fleetdown are joining The Galaxy Trust and will be part of such a caring and supportive family. I have worked at Fleetdown for eight years and started here as a class teacher. I love working in the classroom with the children and watching all our children achieve amazing successes every day at school. I am incredibly proud to work at Fleetdown and it is a privilege to watch all our children grow and develop into inquisitive, enthusiastic and passionate learners. As most of the children and staff here at Fleetdown will tell you, I love visiting my family in Wales in the holidays, eating far too much chocolate and trips to the park with my two children.
I joined Fleetdown in April 2019 as an Assistant Headteacher, having worked as a class teacher and Assistant Head teacher, for several years, in different schools in Maidstone. This September I became the leader of Inclusion at Fleetdown - something I am very passionate about, having been a child in receipt of Free School Meals myself - and am delighted to now be the Acting Deputy Head for Inclusion. I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of Fleetdown's journey and look forward to the road ahead.
Hi! It’s been a great pleasure to be working at Fleetdown for the past two years, and here’s to many more! I absolutely love this school – the children are at the heart of everything that we do, and that’s how a school should be! I also love working with such highly motivated staff, who all want the absolute best for the children within our school. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends (although during Covid this has been over Zoom and Teams!) and keeping fit – I love a good jog or a relaxing long walk!
I look forward to continuing to work with, and for, all of you, your families, and your children. Come and say hi!
I have been working at Fleetdown since 2014 when I started my teaching career and am now one of the Assistant Headteachers, English lead and a DSL. Each day brings new challenges but I am lucky to work with such amazing colleagues in a very supportive school. I am also a Year 2 teacher so am fortunate to be class based and a member of the Senior Leadership Team. I thoroughly enjoy my role and love teaching the children and helping them to become confident, independent learners. I have a real passion for reading and hope to inspire this enthusiasm across the whole school.
Enthusiastic, upbeat and creative are three words that best describe me. Over the course of my teaching career, which began in 2015, I have taught across Key Stage 2 and experienced a number of different roles in senior leadership, subject coordination and mentoring. Since coming to Fleetdown in 2019, I have thoroughly enjoyed familiarising myself with the school and getting to know all the members of the school community. In class, my greatest passions lie within the STEM subjects: my favourite lessons are those filled with curiosity, exploration and discovery.
Outside of school, I enjoy baking, painting and listening to music; hobbies which I love to share with my class when I can!
I joined Fleetdown in 2018 after working across two other schools. I originally moved down from the Midlands to join my husband, here in Kent. I am passionate about make learning fun for the children and make sure they are at the heart of everything I do at Fleetdown. I am a Maths Specialist teacher and although I love teaching the whole curriculum, Maths is my absolute favourite subject to teach. Teaching has always been and continues to be a passion of mine, ensuring I keep up to date with the latest research to bring the most up to date ideas and techniques to the class room. Outside of school, I am the proud Mummy of my twin girls; I am a keen gardener, growing everything from Cucamelons to Alstroemeria and I also love to travel, Hawaii has been my favourite destination so far! However, no exotic location can compare to a family dog walk, on one of Kent’s fine beaches.
