The Farm

A group of 14 children from Fleetdown Primary Academy take turns to go to Curly’s Farm once a week. It is a small working farm set in 10 acres of Kent countryside, on the Isle of Sheppey. Curly's Farm is fully inclusive where everyone can learn and develop their farming and livestock handling skills. It also helps with listening skills, understanding instructions, responsibility and resilience.

Curly's Farm is an all-weather farm (we don't stop because of a little bit of rain) We work hard come wind, rain or sunshine.

On Curly’s Farm we work together carrying out essential and meaningful, everyday farming tasks working with the animals ensuring they are fed and clean.  We have to listen carefully to make sure we feed them the right food.

Here at Fleetdown, we are keen on developing a nurturing approach where every child, regardless of background, diagnosis or capabilities, is given the chance to shine and harness their ability to become an active, engaged member of society.
