PSQM (Primary Science Quality Mark)

Fleetdown Primary Academy has been awarded with the PSQM Award, meaning that we are Science Accredited in our teaching and learning!

STEM Pathway 2022-2023

Following the success of our very popular weekly STEM club and our annual STEM weeks, a STEM pathway has now been created to provide children with inspiring and memorable experiences. The pathway allows our children to work on projects to inspire awe and curiosity in our young people. Our STEM pathway is a hugely popular weekly club (reviews such as ‘this is the best club ever’), last term they made marble runs, exploded volcanoes – combined with exciting and memorable trips. We can’t wait to see what the Head of STEM comes up with for them next!

In a recent survey across the school, here is what we found out from class teachers and other staff:

100% of children involved enjoy their Science lessons.
71% of children involved enjoy their Computing lessons.
100% of children involved enjoy their DT lessons.
100% of children involved enjoy their Maths lessons.
57% of children have involved have been regularly discussing their learning in STEM club, with their teachers.
57% of children involved are more engaged in their class STEM lessons.
