Together Everyone Achieves More
Additional Educational Needs
Some children will have additional educational needs (AEN). This can include (but is not limited to) children who are more able, have a medical diagnosis, are in care or have English as a second language.
At Fleetdown Primary School we endeavour to be fully inclusive, providing equal access for all our pupils. It is our aim to identify, assess and meet the Additional Educational Needs (AEN) of children, through specific targeted support from teachers and teaching assistants.
All children are valued, respected and welcomed at Fleetdown Primary School whatever their additional educational need. We support children’s learning and ensure they are fully included in all school activities, adapting and meeting the needs of all and making full use of external support and resources where appropriate.
The staff at Fleetdown Primary School recognize that all children who attend our school have some level of need, each child is seen as an individual and every effort is taken to ensure that children’s needs are met. All children have access to a broad and balanced curriculum which is differentiated and tailored accordingly.
Mr Simon Sim (SENCO) and Miss Toniann Daly (Inclusion Lead) oversee the provision within the school for those children with AEN and SEN.
