Welcome to Fleetdown Primary School’s SEN department entitled The Ark.
Our team consists of four members of staff as listed below:
Miss Kelly Richardson - Senior Assistant Head Teacher and Inclusion Coordinator
Mrs Charlotte Bailey – SENCo and EAL Coordinator
Mrs Emma Tindall – SEN HLTA (Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant)
Mrs Vicky Yates – Pupil Support Worker
Mrs Maria Burns - Speech & Language support
At Fleetdown, we strive to ensure all children with SEND receive the support and provision they need to flourish at school. Mrs Burton and Miss Benson work closely with parents, teachers and staff to plan and provide appropriate support for children with SEND. This support is recorded on class provision maps and reviewed and evaluated each half term. Examples of the additional help and interventions children receive may include: booster groups, social skills groups and fine motor skills support. Additionally, some children may benefit from specific interventions such as dyslexia support, sensory circuits, Nurture group or speech and language support. For children who have complex SEND, specialist support may be sought. This may include specialist teachers, paediatricians and educational psychologists. It is important to us that we work in partnership with parents to provide the best support for our children. Parents are, therefore, encouraged to have regular meetings and contact with Miss Benson to review the provision their child receives and plan next steps.
Please see the SEN Annual Report and presentations below to find out more about The Ark and SEN provision at Fleetdown.
